Quick guide

First use

After you've installed SecretHelper and restarted Firefox, you will see this new widget in the status bar, at the bottom right corner of your browser:

Click on the icon. A dialog will open and will ask to create a secure volume:

Choose carefully your password and type it into both text fields.

Remember there is no way to recover a lost password, so make the right choice.

Next uses

Once the volume has been created, clicking on the icon opens it. You will be asked for the password you gave when creating your volume.

You may modify the dialog box if you want to make this window more discreet. Just click on Customize This Dialog to do so.

The status bar widget will then look like this:

Clicking on closes the volume (it will also close on quitting Firefox).

Clicking on opens an explorer window on the volume folder.

Note that on Windows Vista and 7, the empty 64MB volume may show several % occupation. This is normal and due to the sector size used on those systems.

Using SecretHelper with Video DownloadHelper

If the Video DownloadHelper extension is installed, you will get a new entry, called Secure storage, in the DownloadHelper action menu. Clicking this will open your secure volume (if not already done) and will place the downloaded video (eventually converted) into the secure place.
